Two Cards, Two Techniques

Today I have two cards for you featuring two different techniques. The first one has a strip of Yupo paper (sort of like a sheet of thin plastic) and alcohol inks. In the close up you might be able to see a bit of gold there, too. It's very fascinating to watch how drops of alcohol inks react on Yupo paper. If you haven't tried it you should definitely put it on your list of techniques to try!

Stamps: My Favorite Things (sentiment)
Die: My Favorite Things (happy)

On the second card I played with watercolors on watercolor paper sprinkled with salt. The salt sucks up the color and creates an interesting pattern. I die cut the hearts and the word love from the sheet I created. The close up is supposed to show you the Wink of Stella sparkle that is so hard to capture on a photo!

Stamps: PTI (sentiment)
Dies: PTI (love), Sweet 'n' Sassy (hearts, SSS (stitched frame)

Two BEAUTIFUL cards, Susanne!! LOVE your alcohol ink backing through the Thank You die-cut card front. The colours are so bright, beautiful and happy. Love the design. And your salted hearts and sentiment for the second card turned out amazing! Love the design (again!) and the wink of stella shows the sparkle. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up and CAS Watercolour! xx

Wonderful job with the techniques, Susanne! A friend gave me a sample of Yupo & I need to give it a try--love your first card! Great effect with the salt, too--need to try it with watercolors as a long time ago I got nothing, but I'm sure I didn't use watercolors back then.

I LOVE both cards, Susanne! The bright AI colors peeking through the the die-cut sentiment is such a great visual interest. The coordinating embellishments are a nice finishing touch. The colors and the effect of the salt card is so lovely, and the design is fabulous! And again, the Wink of Stella is a nice touch, too. Hideko :-)

These are both beautiful and winners to me, Susanne! I have had Yupo paper for a couple of years w/o using it. So when the AI challenge opened, I went to finally use my Yupo paper and AI ... except that I did a major purge this past spring and now I can't find it, lol! Oy, don't ever get old!! I'm pinning these gorgeous designs to CASE when I do! Hugs, Darnell

Two techniques for two gorgeous cards, Susanne ! Love both of them ! I've been seing recently a lot of cards made with this Yupo paper and I really love the results ! I've tried the salt technique but I think my salt was to big and I didn't manage to achieve such a beautiful result as yours ! Love the colours you chose for your cards and as usual, two fantastic designs ! Thanks for sharing and for inspiring !

Alcohol inks - immer toll!

Both these cards are gorgeous! Oh those alcohol inks are so rich. Every time I see them used, I vow to play with mine, but never seem to get around to it!
